We recently had a bar and custom shelving built for our Pool Table room by Blackpoint Woodworking. Based on our desires and room size , the project had to be perfect. When looking for a professional wood craftsman, I found Blackpoint easily on the internet. Clearly the website is beyond the competitions, so I was quickly impressed. We hired Robert instantly after our initial meeting because he came and listened to what was important to us, (i.e. look, finish, due date). He kept in contact with us throughout the entire development process, making multiple visits to ensure the final stain color was not ok, but perfect! The finished project was absolutely what we had hoped!! A small bonus to this project is the fact that Robert does not disrupt your house and is very neat with his work. This industry is a true art and Robert’s talents make the difference. We will definitely work with Robert again in the future and also recommend him to our friends!!

We recently remodeled a smaller-sized bathroom and wanted a cabinet built with specific dimensions so as to maximize floor space. There was another twist, however, in that we wanted to place the cabinet over an existing laundry chute such that we retained the functionality of the chute but kept it “off limits” to our toddler. We contacted Blackpoint and Robert promptly came over to assess the project. We needed to coordinate the build and installation of the cabinet with the other remodeling going on in the bathroom and Robert made every effort to work it in seamlessly. Though our general contractor could never seem to get things done on time, Robert always made every effort to accommodate both his ever-changing schedule as well as changes we made here and there to our design. And once construction of the cabinet began he gave us regular updates so we knew where the project was at all times.

In planning the cabinet, Robert really listened to us and made every attempt to incorporate our ideas into the design. He carefully went over a computer-generated “blueprint” of the cabinet with us, which really helped us to visualize what the finished product would look like. And the plan included a clever solution to our laundry chute problem.

As for the workmanship itself, his attention to detail is unmatched. He spent considerable energy on getting the stain of our cabinet just right so that it would match the vanity and mirror. He also went the extra mile and incorporated an aesthetic detail from our vanity into the cabinet. The installation was perfect – if it weren’t for the difference in color of the cabinet and wall it would look like a built-in!

We our very pleased with our entire experience – our beautiful (and functional) cabinet that matches our vanity and mirror so perfectly that it looks like the furniture was purchased as a set AND the way in which Robert handled the process. It was so nice to actually enjoy working with someone on a home improvement project!

We wholeheartedly recommend Blackpoint Woodworking and hope the need for custom work arises in the near future so we can work with Robert again!
